New Hampshire: Committee Soon to Consider Pro-Gun Legislation

New Hampshire: Committee Soon to Consider Pro-Gun Legislation

Currently awaiting consideration by the House Municipal and County Government Committee is House Bill 1749.  Please contact members of the committee as well as your Representative and strongly urge them to support HB 1749 with amendments when it comes up for a vote.

House Bill 1749, sponsored by Representative J.R. Hoell, provides an enforcement mechanism for existing law which prevents local municipalities and governments from implementing ordinances that would create a complex patchwork of gun regulations across the state.  The implementation of these ordinances makes it difficult for responsible firearm owners to ensure that they are following the law when traveling across the state.  This bill will ensure that local elected officials are held accountable to the law just as New Hampshire citizens are.

HB 1749 could soon be sent to the floor with amendments supported by NRA.

Again, please contact members of the House Municipal and County Government Committee as well as your state Representative and strongly urge them to support House Bill 1749 as amended when it comes up for a vote.
