  • Do I have to have campaign experience to apply for this job?

    Ideally yes, although that campaign experience can come from a combination of volunteer and paid professional experience.

  • How much autonomy will I have with this job?

    Quite a bit, as long as all of the objectives are being met. You will have regular communication with your supervisor and managers at NRA Headquarters will provide direction and support, but you need to be able to work independently to be successful in this job. 

  • Is this a traditional 9 to 5 job?

    Not at all. As a matter of fact, evening and weekend work is required, and often when the bulk of your job is accomplished.

  • Do I get to set my own schedule?

    Generally yes, as long as all of the work required is getting done.

  • What is the time commitment required for this job?

    This is a full time campaign job, which means that you will be working anywhere from 40-60 hours per week, with the longer weeks coming the closer we get to election day.

  • Do I have to be a gun owner to apply for this job?

    No, you do not have to be a gun owner to apply for this job, although you must have some experience with firearms and be willing to take safety courses to become more proficient.

  • Should I apply if I am still in college?

    Absolutely! We are hiring on an ongoing basis, and if you have campaign experience then you can apply, although you cannot do this job while still in college.

  • Does NRA cover relocation costs if I have to move for this job?

    No, NRA does not cover any relocation costs. 

  • How much and how frequently would I get paid?

    You will get paid a monthly stipend based on your past campaign experience, and will get paid every two weeks.

  • Is this position benefits eligible?

    Yes. After the probationary period is completed, you will be eligible to enroll in the NRA offered health care, vision and dental benefits.

  • How long would this position last?

    This position would conclude the weekend after the November election for which you are hired.

  • If I do a good job, can I get a full time job with NRA?

    Possibly. Job performance will play a large factor in future employment opportunities, but ultimately employment after the CFR program concludes will be dependent on what positions are available at that time.
