City of Albuquerque

Ordinance #108 was removed from the Finance & Government Operations Committee`s agenda for Monday, June 11. This is Mayor Jim Baca`s proposal to prohibit trained, law-abiding citizens who obtain a license from the state from carrying a concealed handgun within limits. It may be reset for a hearing at either the June 25 or July 30 meeting of the committee. We`ll keep you posted! In the meantime, keep contacting City Councilors and urging them to oppose Ordinance #108. You can reach them by calling (505) 768-3100 or sending them an email thru the city homepage at www.cabq.gov.

Also, Councilor Greg Payne has introduced Resolution #276, which would ensure that licensed Albuquerque residents are provided the ability to carry concealed handguns for personal protection, and to prohibit the city from enacting restrictions on that right or intervening in any litigation against the new Right To Carry law. Feel free to contact City Councilors and urge them to support Resolution #276. You may obtain a copy of this resolution by visiting www.cabq.gov.

City of Espanola

If you cannot attend and your live in the Espanola or Los Alamos area, please contact City Council Members at the numbers listed below and urge them to oppose Espanola "opting out" of New Mexico`s carry law.
