The Pima County Natural Resources Parks and Recreation District will be hosting a Public Open House on Thursday, February 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to discuss management of the A-7 Ranch, a 41,000-acre working landscape owned and operated by Pima County. It is comprised mostly of State Land Grazing Lease and private land, purchased with 2004 bond funds for acquisition of open space for conservation purposes.
It is important that shooters and hunters attend this meeting and be part of the process that will keep this land open for hunting. We have been informed that the environmental community has already submitted their concept of a ranch management plan, which involves zoning the ranch for allowable activities, which may NOT include protecting the shooting sports.
The Open House will be held at the NRPR 1st Floor Conference Room, 3500 W. River Road in Tucson. For more information, please contact Locana de Souza at (520) 877-6159.
Please make plans to attend this important meeting and help protect our hunting heritage here in Arizona.
