Legislative Bill 592: Sponsored by state Senator Scott Lautenbaugh (SD-18), LB 592 authorizes the carrying of concealed handguns by qualified law enforcement officers and qualified retired law enforcement officers.

Legislative Bill 602: Sponsored by state Senator Dave Bloomfield (SD-17), LB 602 adopts the Nebraska Firearms Freedom Act which clarifies Second Amendment rights in Nebraska.

New Introductions in the 2014 Legislative Session:

Legislative Bill 699: Sponsored by state Senator Tyson Larson (SD-40), SB 699 exempts certain persons with developmental disabilities from Hunter Education requirements.

Legislative Bill 724: Sponsored by state Senator Scott Lautenbaugh (SD-18), SB 724 allows off-duty law enforcement officers to carry firearms in schools.

Your NRA-ILA will keep you informed as these bills progress throughout this important legislative session so that you can contact your legislators and urge them to support the bills that advance your Second Amendment rights and reject those bills that would take away those rights.  Also, please continue to check your e-mail and www.NRAILA.org for updates as well as additional legislation.
