U.N. Arms Trade Treaty Negotiations Underway
Day one of the conference began with a stunning degree of inaction, as the meeting failed to formally convene for either morning or afternoon sessions. However, anti-gun groups are present in force and are insisting that civilian firearms be included within the scope of the ATT. |
Nothing is more patriotic than the Second Amendment, auto racing, and the American flag. This weekend, fans at Daytona International Speedway will get to experience all three. The Bass Pro Shops Chevrolets, piloted by Austin Dillon in the Nationwide Series and Jamie McMurray in the Sprint Cup Series, will be adorned with patriotic colors as well as a promotion for the NRA Museum, a 10,000 square-foot facility slated to open in 2013 at the Bass Pro Shops Flagship store in Springfield, Missouri. This museum will complement the current museum at NRA Headquarters in Fairfax, Va. |
If you're a fan of the History Channel's very popular "Top Shot" show you may already know of season 4's "Top Shot" champion, Chris Cheng. But you should also know about Cheng's personal story and his support for the NRA and the shooting sports. For example, after receiving his "Top Shot" prize money, the first thing Cheng did was upgrade to a fully paid NRA Life Membership. "I want my first investment to symbolize how important it is for all of us who love the shooting sports to support the National Rifle Association in whatever capacity we can, whether it's with money, with our time, or by simply sharing our love for shooting with friends, family and colleagues." |
Gunlaws.com has come up with an idea for getting more Americans involved in shooting sports; the effort is called "National Training Week" and is designed to promote marksmanship and gun safety across the Country. As part of the effort, during the week of July 4 to July 11, ranges are encouraged to offer free or discounted handgun rentals, special classes for people who are new to firearms, safety instructions for parents and youngsters, and advanced classes for skilled shooters. Check with your local range to see if they are participating in "National Training Week" then get out and shoot!
