The Suffolk County Legislature's Parks and Cultural Affairs Committee recently considered and reported favorably out of committee two bills supporting the reopening of the Suffolk County Trap & Skeet Range.
The bills included, Introductory Resolution IR-2216-5 a measure that designates $300,000.00 dollars for planning, refurbishing, upgrading and maintenance of the facility and IR-2228-5 which will authorize a contract with Hunter Sports to run the Trap & Skeet facility.
Even though support for the range is present in the Suffolk County Legislature, area anti-gun groups are trying to do everything they can to stop the range from reopening. This is why it is vital that you attend the Suffolk County Legislature Meeting on Tuesday, December 6.
If you make one meeting this year, please make it this one! You will be in front of a county legislature that has been open minded and responsive to your Second Amendment Rights and one that has worked with us to restore the use of the range.
After January 1, 2006, one third of Suffolk County's Legislature will change. It will take time to get acquainted with the new members of the Legislature. Therefore it is important that NRA members take advantage of this current opportunity by having a strong attendance on Tuesday, December 6. All in attendance are encouraged to speak briefly in favor of the range by encouraging the Legislature to pass Introductory Resolutions, IR-2216-5 and IR-2228-5. Please encourage your friends and family to attend.
