Legislation Restricting Right-to-Carry Proposed in Nevada!

Monday, March 12, 2007

Please Contact the Assembly Judiciary Committee Today!

AB191, sponsored by the Assembly Judiciary Committee and brought forward by the Nevada Supreme Court, is slated to be heard before the Assembly Judiciary Committee tomorrow, March 13.

This measure would extend the prohibition on concealed weapon permit holders to prosecuting attorneys and employees within the courthouse, unless they have been granted permission from the presiding judge, who remains exempt.  This measure goes one step further, as well, and prohibits ALL permittees from carrying in a courthouse, court facility, or public building PARTIALLY OCCUPIED by a court.

This could create a potential danger for permittees who unknowingly enter into an area, such as a strip mall or occupied structure where a part-time court or legal proceeding is being held.

Please contact the members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee and express your opposition to AB191 and request they vote against it when it comes before them for a vote.
