Pennsylvania: City of Philadelphia Attempts to Force NRA Affiliated Range Out of Business

For 77 years, the Holmesburg Fish and Game Protective Association has served sportsmen and gun enthusiasts.  However, several months ago the City of Philadelphia sent notice to the Holmesburg Fish and Game Association that its long existing property lease would not be renewed, effective January 1, 2008. 

Tonight, City Councilman Frank Rizzo will be in attendance at the Association's General Meeting to discuss the possible closure of the range facility and/or possible solutions for a contract renewal.  Please plan on attending this important meeting.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Association’s Club House at 5100 Pennypack Street, Philadelphia, PA 19136.  If you have any questions you can call the club at (215) 624-9454.  If you are unable to attend, please contact Mayor John Street and the members of the City Council to respectfully urge them to renew the contract of the Holmesburg Fish and Game Protective Association.  Mayor Street can be reached at (215) 686-2181.  Contact information for the City Council can be found below.
