Vital self-defense legislation is currently being worked on in the West Virginia State Senate. This “Castle Doctrine” legislation will give law-abiding citizens the right to protect themselves without a “duty to retreat” from an attacker.
Every member of the Senate cosponsored the original bill, however, the language was not clearly enough written to be passed through. The NRA has been working closely with the bill’s drafters to get the best possible language and the full support of the West Virginia legislature.
A hearing will be held by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, February 12 to introduce the new language.
