New Jersey: More than 20 Extreme Anti-Gun Bills to be Heard in Committee this Wednesday

Monday, February 11, 2013

URGENT: Attend this Hearing in Trenton and Contact your state Lawmakers

On Wednesday, February 13th, the New Jersey Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee will hear more than twenty extreme anti-gun bills.  These bills, which border on being some of the worst anti-gun legislation currently being considered in the United States, are attempts that will fail to prevent future crime.  Past attempts at similar legislation have proven that they do not prevent crime and only punish law-abiding gun owners.  If these bills pass through committee, they could be considered by the full Assembly as soon as this Thursday.  You must act now!

Detailed analysis of the bills to be heard on Wednesday can be found here.

The NRA-ILA and our state association, the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC), are calling for "all hands on deck."  Attend the committee hearing at 10:00 a.m. this Wednesday in the State House Annex, Committee Room 11, 4th Floor, Trenton.  Click here for information on buses and to register.

We need a massive showing in Trenton to demonstrate to lawmakers that it is not acceptable to trample on your Second Amendment rights like Governor Cuomo and anti-gun legislators recently did in New York.  The Second Amendment is literally on life support in New Jersey.  If this anti-gun package is adopted, in addition to current state law, the constitutional rights of gun owners will virtually evaporate in the Garden State.

Please contact your state lawmakers and members of the State Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee.  Respectfully demand they oppose gun control schemes and instead focus on real solutions like improving the mental health system and school safety.  New Jersey already has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country and history has proven that these laws have not stopped criminals and madmen.

Contact information for your Legislators can be found here.
