Much misinformation is circulating about Senate Bill 544 / House Bill 523, by Senator Wilton Simpson and Representative Jamie Grant respectively, which allows Florida's Tax Collectors to assist citizens in submitting applications for Concealed Weapons and Firearms Licenses.
As sometimes happens, people shoot off their mouths without having a clue what they're talking about. In this case people obviously haven't read the bill. To read the text of the bill, please click here.
So, it was with great amusement and joy when we saw the article, On tax collectors, concealed carry licenses and TV reporters, by Lee Williams with the Sarasota Herald-Tribune that debunked the false information and laid out what the bills really do.
This is a great piece. Enjoy.
