Sign the Petition to Repeal the Ban on Sunday Hunting in Pennsylvania!

Each hunting season, sportsmen across America enjoy hunting seven days per week.  However, Pennsylvania is one of 11 states where hunting on Sunday is restricted or prohibited due to antiquated “blue laws” that have been on the books since the 19th century.  While hunting is still restricted in Pennsylvania, other activities such as fishing, hiking and golf remain perfectly legal on the seventh day of the week.

Between work, school and other obligations, Sunday hunting bans only add to the challenge of getting out into the field.  This has a ripple effect on America’s conservation system, which relies on revenue generated through hunting license fees.  Hunters contribute billions of dollars to wildlife conservation programs also through the purchase of firearms, ammunition and archery equipment.  This Pennsylvania restriction not only impedes hunter recruitment and retention but also retards the economic benefits hunters provide through the purchase of fuel, food, lodging and dozens of incidentals that go along with a day’s hunt.

To prohibit hunting while allowing all other types of outdoor recreation on Sunday effectively treats hunters as second-class citizens and implies support for the view of out-of-state animal extremists that something is wrong with hunting.  Pennsylvania has a long and storied history of outdoorsmen, dating back to William Penn himself.  To protect and maintain the Keystone State’s proud hunting heritage, we must strive to provide increased opportunities and encourage the next generation of hunters.

In order for Sunday hunting to become a reality, all pro-hunting Pennsylvanians must stand together.  Please sign this petition TODAY, and urge family, friends and fellow Pennsylvania hunters to do the same.  Call upon your legislators to promote Pennsylvania's proud hunting heritage.
