This week, state Representative Bo Biteman (R-51) introduced two pieces of legislation that seeks to remove certain “Gun Free Zones” in Wyoming that have long left law-abiding citizens unnecessarily defenseless.
House Bill 136 would amend the existing statute to allow a person lawfully carrying with a Wyoming state permit to carry a concealed weapon on any public college or university campus or within any public college or university facility, without having to have the written consent of the security service of the public college or university.
House Bill 137 would allow an individual to lawfully carry a concealed weapon in any meeting of a government entity.
While these bills have not yet been referred to committee, it is important that you contact your state Representative and state Senator and encourage them to support House Bill 136 and House Bill 137 when they come up for consideration.
