Nevada Reminder: Pro-Gun and Pro-Hunting Bills Scheduled for Hearings This Week

This week, two pro-gun bills, Senate Joint Resolution 11 and Assembly Bill 118, will be heard by their respective committees.

Please note, the hearing time for SJR 11 has been changed to 1:00pm tomorrow, March 14.  Please contact the committee members and urge them to support these two important measures!  Please click the “Take Action” button below to contact the committee members.

SJR 11, sponsored by state Senator Scott Hammond (R-18), proposes to amend the Nevada State Constitution to preserve the right to hunt, trap and fish.  SJR 11 passed both chambers in 2015 and must pass both chambers of the legislature this year in order to be presented to the voters in 2018.  The Senate Natural Resources Committee is scheduled to hear SJR 11 on Tuesday, March 14, at 1:00pm.  Click the “Take Action” button above to contact members of the Senate Natural Resources Committee in support of SJR 11.

AB 118, sponsored by Assemblyman Skip Daly (D-31), would allow a member of the military between 18 and 20 years of age to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm.  Current law requires a person to be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for a concealed carry permit.  If persons between 18 and 20 years of age are risking their lives for our country then they should be eligible to acquire permits for self-defense.  AB 118 will be heard by the Assembly Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, March 15, at 8:00am.  Click the “Take Action” button above to contact members of the Assembly Judiciary Committee in support of AB 118.
