Indiana: Conference Committee Tomorrow for Pro-Gun Legislation to Improve Self-Defense Opportunities

On March 12th, at 10:00AM, a conference committee will be hearing House Bill 1214.  There is a proposed amendment through the conference committee process for House Bill 1214 to include language to eliminate the fee for a License to Carry a Handgun (LTCH) as well as expand carry opportunities throughout the state.  Please contact your state Representative and  Senator urging them to support Proposed Conference Committee Report #1 for HB 1214.  Click here to find your legislators and contact them by phone and the "Take Action" button below to contact them by email.  Second Amendment supporters are invited to attend the conference committee.

Conference Committee Report #1 to House Bill 1214 will eliminate the fee for a lifetime LTCH and also expand the locations and opportunities to carry throughout the state of Indiana. Self-defense situations are difficult, if not impossible, to anticipate.  Accordingly, a law-abiding adult’s right to defend themselves in such situations should not be conditioned by government-mandated taxes.  Gun Free Zones have been shown time and time again to create “soft targets” for those wishing to do harm and expanding the locations where permitted citizens may carry will only add to the community’s safety.

Again, please click here to find your legislators and contact them by phone and the "Take Action" button above to contact them by email to urge them to SUPPORT the Proposed Conference Committee #1 to HB 1214.  In addition, please consider attending the conference committee.  Details may be found here and below.
