On March 16th, the Nevada Board of Wildlife Commissioners withdrew Commission General Regulation 473/LCB File No. R111-17. Thank you again to those NRA members and Second Amendment supporters who contacted the commission to voice their opposition to the ordinance.
LCB File No. R111-17 would have prohibited the discharge of a rifle within 5,000 feet (almost one mile) of an occupied dwelling or a shotgun or bow within 1,500 feet (four football fields) of an occupied dwelling without prior approval from the landowner. This could have resulted in a de facto hunting ban and had a huge impact on Nevada hunters. Further, because consent from owners of occupied dwellings would have been required, it could have allowed a neighbor to prevent hunting within a mile to a quarter of a mile regardless of land ownership.
