Hawaii: Senate Committee to Hear Anti-Reciprocity Resolutions

Hawaii: Senate Committee to Hear Anti-Reciprocity Resolutions

On Tuesday, March 27th, the Hawaii state Senate Committee on Judiciary will be hearing Senate Concurrent Resolution 9 and Senate Resolution 7 requesting the Congressional Delegation of Hawaii to vote against any national reciprocity legislation.  Companion resolutions HCR 37 and HR 29 previously passed the House Committee on Judiciary on March 21st.  Please contact members of the committee and urge them to OPPOSE SCR 9 and SR 29.  Click the “Take Action” button below to contact committee members.

Also, please consider submitting testimony to the committee through the Hawaii Legislature website. In order to submit testimony, you will need to create an account.  For help creating an account and submitting testimony, click here.

Senate Concurrent Resolution 9 and Senate Resolution 7, introduced by Senator Stanley Chang (D-9), requests Congress to not enact S. 446, H.R. 38, or any “concealed carry reciprocity” legislation that would require the State of Hawaii to recognize the concealed carry standards of every other state.  The fundamental Right to Keep and Bear Arms should not end at the state line.  National Concealed Carry Reciprocity would ensure that law-abiding citizens do not forfeit their ability to protect themselves as they travel from state to state, and it would also ensure that anti-gun jurisdictions could not harass or persecute travelers for exercising their constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Again, please click the “Take Action” below to contact committee members to OPPOSE SCR 9 and SR 7.  Please also submit testimony to the committee with the Hawaii Legislature website.  Continue to check your inbox and www.NRAILA.org for the latest updates on issues impacting your Second Amendment rights and hunting heritage in Hawaii.
