Idaho: School Safety Bill Scheduled for Hearing in Senate Committee

Thursday, March 5, 2020

Idaho: School Safety Bill Scheduled for Hearing in Senate Committee

On Wednesday, March 11th, the Idaho Senate State Affairs Committee is scheduled to consider Senate Bill 1384, legislation that allows school employees with an enhanced CWL to possess and carry a firearm on school property.  The hearing will begin at 8:00 AM and will take place in Capitol Building’s Room WW55 in the west wing of the basement level.  If you are able, please attend this hearing and urge the members of the committee to SUPPORT Senate Bill 1384.  School employees and parents with school-aged children are highly encouraged to attend the hearing in support of the bill. If you are unable to attend the hearing, please contact members of the Senate State Affairs Committee and urge them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 1384.

Senate Bill 1384 authorizes current school employees with a valid CWL to possess and carry a firearm while on school property.  So-called “gun-free zones” disarm law-abiding citizens leaving them defenseless against criminals who ignore arbitrary boundaries.

Again, if you are able, please attend the hearing on Wednesday, March 11th and urge the members of the committee to SUPPORT Senate Bill 1384.  If you are unable to attend the hearing, please contact members of the Senate State Affairs Committee and urge them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 1384.
