It is often said that history repeats itself. Some have recently drawn parallels between entering World War II and the ravages it brought upon this nation, with the horrendous Coronavirus pandemic we find ourselves in today.
The inspiration drawn from U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) was part of the glue that held this nation together, raised our spirits, our faith, our courage and our strength. We endured the destruction of WWII. We learned from it and became a better nation because of our will to survive and our refusal to be destroyed by our enemies. We emerged victorious.
It is therefore fitting that Florida Senate President-elect, Wilton Simpson (R) has drawn upon the courage and inspiration of FDR and has posted a video on Facebook that calls us together. In the familiar voice of FDR we are reminded that America always finds a way to not only survive, but to win.
