Louisiana - Join Us in Baton Rouge to Defend our 2nd Amendment!

What is more important than our Bill of Rights? Nothing! That is why we need YOU to join us on the Capitol steps on Monday, July 19th, to help show your support for your pro-gun state Legislators and the veto override of SB 118.  Don’t miss this opportunity to hang out with fellow freedom-fighters supporting Louisianans’ Second Amendment rights!

Date: Monday, July 19, 2021
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Location:
Louisiana State Capitol
900 N 3rd St
Baton Rouge, LA 70802

Even though the veto override session is a go - this fight is not over yet.  We need you to come to the Capitol and show your state Senator and Representative that they need to vote YES to the veto override of SB 118 – Constitutional Carry!

Please attend, and also click the TAKE ACTION button below, to email your state Senator and Representative respectfully urging them to vote YES to override the Governor’s veto of SB 118.

Let’s show Governor Edwards that he does not speak for gun-owners, especially when an overwhelming majority of elected state Senators and Representatives sent him a bill to sign into law.

21 States, including all of LA’s bordering states, recognize the constitutional right of their citizens to carry a firearm for self-defense without first obtaining government permission and paying a fee to do so.

Let’s make Louisiana Number 22.

Senate Bill 118 enables our constitutional right as law-abiding individuals to carry a handgun for self-defense.  This important legislation ensures that citizens are able to exercise their right to self-defense without government red tape or delays.  This measure does not affect previously issued carry permits, and allows citizens who still wish to obtain a permit in order to carry in other states recognizing Louisiana permits, to do so.

Louisianans can already open carry without a permit.  Carrying a firearm in a purse or wearing a coat that would conceal the firearm should not, and does not, turn law-abiding citizens into criminals.  Apparently, Governor Edwards thinks it does and is using that ill-conceived logic as one of his reasons for vetoing SB 118.

Don’t forget to forward this email to your family, friends, and fellow gun owners and urge them to come to the rally and to email their state Senator and Representative.
