Colorado - URGENT ACTION ALERT: Defend Your Second Amendment Rights in Broomfield City!

Next Tuesday, June 13, the Broomfield City Council will vote on two deeply concerning ordinances, Ord. 2189 and 2192, which further restrict your rights and undermine your ability to exercise your constitutional freedoms. Your immediate attention and action are required to protect your fundamental rights as gun owners and defenders of the Second Amendment.

Ord. 2189 blatantly discriminates against responsible adults aged 18-20 by unfairly prohibiting them from exercising their Second Amendment rights. This age group deserves the same rights and protections afforded to all law-abiding citizens. It is crucial that we stand together to oppose this unjust ordinance and ensure equal treatment for all individuals who seek to exercise their right to bear arms.

Additionally, Ord. 2192 imposes an arbitrary waiting period of ten days on law-abiding citizens before they can take possession of firearms. This unnecessary delay infringes upon your rights and creates unnecessary obstacles for law-abiding citizens to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Furthermore, the ordinance requires individuals to provide proof of training or experience prior to purchasing firearms, imposing additional burdens on law-abiding citizens who are already well within their rights to exercise their Second Amendment freedoms.

Broomfield City has already passed several anti-Second Amendment ordinances in response to Colorado Legislature's repeal of firearm preemption laws. These local laws not only infringe upon our constitutional rights but also create confusion and a patchwork of regulations that can further violate our Second Amendment rights.

We cannot afford to remain silent in the face of these unjust measures. It is vital that we make our voices heard by contacting the Broomfield City Council Members and urging them to oppose Ord. 2189 and 2192. Please click the link below to let them know that these ordinances unjustly restrict our rights and undermine our ability to exercise the freedoms granted to us by the Constitution.

Mark your calendars! Consider joining the meeting in person on Tuesday, June 13, at 6:00 p.m. located at the Council Chambers, George Di Ciero City and County Building, One Des Combes Drive, Broomfield, CO 80020.

Join the council meeting virtually if you cannot attend in person at broomfield.org/LIVE. Public comments may be made via telephone starting at approximately 6 p.m. by calling 1-855-695-3744. To comment on applicable items, press star 3 (*3) to be placed in the queue.

Remember, your calls and emails carry significant weight and can influence the decisions made by your elected officials. Together, we can defend our rights and preserve the integrity of the Second Amendment. Act now to protect your freedoms!
