House Bill 133 (HB 133), an important pro-gun bill that recodifies Utah’s existing firearm laws, is currently being held in the Senate Rules Committee. Despite passing the House of Representatives on February 4th with a 56-13 vote, the Senate Rules Committee has still not taken action on the bill. Please contact members of the Senate Rules Committee and urge them to move HB 133 out of Rules and into the appropriate Standing Committee for a hearing.
House Bill 133, sponsored by Representative Karianne Lisonbee, is a recodification of Utah’s existing firearm laws. This legislation makes Utah’s current gun laws easier to read and understand while making several clarifying policy changes to ensure the protection of Second Amendment rights for all of Utah’s law-abiding gun owners.
Again, please contact members of the Senate Rules Committee and urge them to take immediate action on HB 133!
