Oklahoma: Pro-Gun Bills Pass Out of Committee

Oklahoma: Pro-Gun Bills Pass Out of Committee

This week, HB 2818, expanding self-defense protections and SB 500, the Firearms Industry Non-Discrimination (FIND) Act, passed favorably out of their respective policy committees and have advanced in the legislature. Please contact your legislators in each chamber directly by using the TAKE ACTION buttons below and urge them to SUPPORT these bills.

HB2818, the Private Property Protection Act, allows for the defensive display of a firearm when presented with an active threat. HB2818 passed the Senate Public Safety Committee and now awaits action on the full Senate floor.

SB500 prohibits public entities from entering into contracts with businesses unless they certify that they do not discriminate against firearm businesses. Anti-gun corporations, banks, and their executives have expressed interest in denying services to the firearm industry as a way to further their political agenda and impose gun control by making such business impossible when legislatures won’t bend to their will. SB500 passed the State Powers Committee and has been referred to the Government Oversight Committee for consideration.

Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox for updates as these bills progress.
