On Monday, August 11th, Governor Kevin Stitt held a signing ceremony for Senate Bill 500, preventing discrimination against the firearms industry. NRA-ILA Oklahoma State Director Travis Couture-Lovelady was present for the ceremony.
NRA thanks Governor Stitt, all legislators who advanced this critical legislation, and all NRA members and fellow Second Amendment advocates who took action in support of this bill during this year's legislative session.
SB500, introduced by Senator Casey Murdock and Representative Kevin West, prohibits public entities from entering into contracts with businesses unless they certify that they do not discriminate against firearm businesses. Anti-gun corporations, banks, and their executives have expressed interest in denying services to the firearm industry as a way to further their political agenda and impose gun control by making such business impossible when legislatures won’t bend to their will.
NRA will be back in Oklahoma City in 2026 to keep fighting for the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your email inbox for further updates.
