Each year, the Oklahoma Rifle Association (ORA), the NRA's State Association for Oklahoma, hosts its Annual State Convention in August. Oklahoma NRA Members who join ORA, or attend ORA’s Annual State Convention, can learn about and get involved in, activities that promote NRA programs and help defend our Second Amendment rights.
Last month, the Oklahoma NRA Team attended ORA’s Annual State Convention at the Oklahoma City Gun Club, where NRA-ILA Grassroots Field Coordinator, Kelvin Curtis, NRA-ILA State Director, Nick Tuccio, and Oklahoma Rifle Association President and NRA 1st Vice President, Mark Vaughan, joined forces to engage with both ORA and NRA members who were in attendance. The opportunity to connect with NRA members throughout the Convention, and discuss with them, their involvement with ORA as the NRA-State Association, was very informative, and was very much a highlight, for all who participated!
Later in the day, Kelvin and Nick first gave ORA and NRA members an update on the NRA's efforts to safeguard and promote Second Amendment rights for all law-abiding Americans, from a broad, national perspective, and then discussed and emphasized the importance of the crucial work that is being done at the state level, particularly the work that has been done in partnership with our volunteer-led State Associations. The NRA Representatives finished by again reminding all, that this partnership and the work and progress that it has produced, is vitally important to our ability to protect and promote the Second Amendment in the future.
The takeaway for us is this: If we are to continue to get the work done, that is essential for us to maintain and grow our Second Amendment rights in the future, then it is absolutely essential for NRA members and 2A supporters to engage with, and volunteer for, and help in any way they can, the NRA- State Associations in their home states.
