The recent election brought significant changes to the electorate, and the results couldn’t be clearer. An anti-gun majority now controls the House of Delegates, and an anti-gun Governor is preparing to take office. Together, they are already signaling aggressive plans to roll back your Second Amendment freedoms.
During his time in office, Governor Glenn Youngkin stood firm in defense of your Second Amendment rights, vetoing numerous gun control bills that would have punished law-abiding Virginians while doing nothing to stop violent criminals. His leadership served as the last line of defense against anti-gun extremists in the legislature.
But that line of defense is gone. In the coming months we expect sweeping gun control proposals, from bans on commonly owned firearms and magazines to restrictions on where and how law-abiding citizens can carry for self-defense. Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger has made her opposition to gun rights clear; she will not veto the extensive restrictions that are sure to come from the new anti-gun majority.
