As 2026 starts, we want to pause and recognize what we have accomplished together in 2025—and, more importantly, the work that all of you contributed to help us achieve these victories.
On the national front, we saw the removal of the $200 federal excise tax on suppressors and short-barreled firearms - the first major legislative victory in years. Your NRA played a meaningful role in that outcome, and that influence exists because of your commitment to our shared cause.
On the State and Local Front, we defeated gun bans in both New Mexico and Hawaii, saw a number of states eliminate "gun-free zones," and had scores of anti-gun bills vetoed by governors in Virginia and Nevada.
Our litigation team was busy filing lawsuits to invalidate unconstitutional laws in New Mexico, California, and New Jersey. They also filed multiple suits to challenge Biden Era ATF rules.
On the grassroots front, we attended hundreds of events across the country - recruiting thousands of new NRA members and new volunteers to join our ranks. To view the full ILA recap, click here.
