On Wednesday, January 21st, the Senate Committee on Public Safety will hold a hearing on Senate Bill 1058, regarding gun owner privacy. Please contact member of the committee by using the TAKE ACTION button below and urge them to SUPPORT SB 1058.
SB1058 safeguards the privacy of firearm purchasers by prohibiting the use of firearm-specific merchant category codes (MCCs) by payment processors, preventing discrimination against gun owners and Second Amendment businesses by protecting their financial privacy.
Additionally this week, Senate Bill 1068 and Senate Bill 1069 passed out of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Elections. They both now move to the Rules Committee, but have not been scheduled for a hearing yet.
SB1068 prohibits any governing board of a college, university, or community college from prohibiting a person from concealed carry if they have a valid CCW or the lawful transportation or lawful storage of a firearm.
SB1069 removes "muffling devices" (suppressors) from the prohibited weapons list under Arizona Statute.
These bills may sound familiar, as all three were passed by the legislature last session, but were vetoed by Governor Hobbs. Your continued engagement this session is critical to ensure these bills pass again, further protecting the right of all Arizonans to keep and bear arms!
Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox for updates as this legislative session progresses.
