New York: Majority Democrats Plan to Tax Away Your Second Amendment

Ever since the 2022 Bruen decision, anti-gun lawmakers in New York have been scheming for ways to circumvent the Court’s decision.  Albany’s anti-gun, Democrat Majority is now launching a full scale assault on the constitutional rights of New Yorkers with their latest poll tax proposal. 

If they cannot outright confiscate your firearms, they will make sure you cannot afford to buy or shoot them.  Former Chief Justice John Marshall once famously proclaimed that “the power to tax is the power to destroy.”  Albany Democrats understand this axiom all too well, and this appears to be the motivation behind their latest push. S.5813A imposes an 11 percent excise tax on the sale of all firearms and ammunition.  This bill is in the Senate Budget and Revenue Committee, but don’t expect it to sit there long.  Your help is urgently needed!  Please contact your Senator immediately and request a NO vote on S.5813A!

To add insult to injury, the bill would take these “tax dollars” and launder them into a Gun Violence Prevention and School Safety Program.   We can only imagine what that is going to fund.  The bill also has provisions for databases and gun dealer inspections.  This is truly a very bad bill and needs to be stopped!
