On Friday, May 29th, the Vermont legislature adjourned the 2026 session. The firearms omnibus bill, which was amended several times throughout the session, ultimately failed after the House declined to take up the bill before the final gavel fell.
The NRA thanks our members and Second Amendment supporters who took action and helped amplify our efforts in the capitol along with our state affiliate, the Vermont Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, and the many pro-gun lawmakers who held the line against S.329.
