Senate Bill 52 (Scott), one of two handgun licensing measures to move through the California State Legislature, was held up in the Assembly’s Appropriations Committee yesterday, as the committee chair, Assemblywoman Carole Migden (D-San Francisco), placed the bill on the committee’s suspense file. A vote on the bill could be taken at any time, however, which is why it’s imperative that NRA members, their family, friends, and fellow sportsmen, take the time to call the members of the Appropriations Committee NOW and voice their opposition.
Senator Jack Scott (D-Los Angeles) is committed to seeing this measure become law, and the only thing in his way is you and the pressure that you bring to bear!

Also, SB 510 (Scott), another onerous piece of legislation that would mandate chamber loaded indicators and magazine disconnect mechanisms be installed in all semi-automatic pistols, was passed out of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and is headed for a vote of the full Assembly. Assembly Democrats Lou Papan, Lou Correa, and Rod Wright cast "NO" votes on SB 510, so please thank them for their opposition. Call your Assemblymember and strongly encourage their "NO" vote on this measure when it comes to the floor.
