On Monday, July 30, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (D) signed Assembly Bill 854 into law.
Currently California law does not allow a firearm manufacturer or dealer to import into the state a handgun that is not listed on the California Department of Justice’s “not unsafe” roster list for the purpose of evaluation by a journalist. AB854 will create a system that will allow a loan to take place through a dealer and to be returned to the manufacturer through a dealer for the purpose of testing and evaluation by a publication.
A special thanks to all NRA members who called and voiced their support in favor of this legislation.
