Shooting Range Funding Measure to be Heard in Hawaii Committees!

Friday, February 8, 2008

Please Contact Both House Committees and Urge Them to Pass HD2543!

House Bill 2543, introduced by Representative Cindy Evans (D-7), a measure that would appropriate funds for shooting range development in West Hawaii County, is slated to be heard before a joint House Legislative Committee on Thursday, February 14th at 10:55 a.m. at the State Capitol.

This will be the only bill heard by both committees, which is why it is vital that NRA members either attend the hearing or contact the members of the committees to voice their support. Representative Cindy Evans, Chairman of the Committee on Public Safety and Military Affairs, and Ken Ito, Chairman of the Committee on Water, Land, Ocean Resources and Hawaiian Affairs, are both pro-gun supporters and we anticipate a favorable hearing on the bill.

Shooting range development on the islands is key to maintaining a healthy sporting environment for both residents and tourists alike, so please take the time to contact the members of the Public Safety and Military Affairs, and the Water, Land, Ocean Resources and Hawaiian Affairs committees listed below and urge them to support HD2543.
