Please Contact the Senate Judiciary Committee and Urge Them to Support SB1070 and SB1214
Next week the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to hear two important right-to-carry reform measures. Senate Bill 1070 sponsored by Linda Gray (R-10), removes the time restrictions on when a concealed carry permit applicant may apply for a permit after the requiredfirearms training has occurred. The current Department of Safety regulations require applicants to apply for a permit within tweleve months of taking an approved firearms safety course. SB1070 will be heard in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday, February 18th.
Senate Bill 1214, sponsored by Senator Karen Johnson (R-18), expands the area where right-to-carry permit holders may carry a concealed firearm for self-defense to include community college campuses, universities under the jurisdiction of the Board of Regents, a private college or a private university.
