Arizona Senate Playing Politics With Our Rights!

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

Make Your Voice Heard Today!

As the legislative session in Arizona is starting to wind down, there are a number of important bills that protect our Right to Keep and Bear Arms that are being held hostage in the Arizona Legislature.

We are told that in the Senate there is bickering over other issues such as the budget. The rights of gun owners should NEVER be used as “trade goods” in petty political infighting. We need NRA members, their families and friends to help your NRA put a stop to this in Arizona.

Please call and email State Senator Jay Tibshraney (R-21), Chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, today and tell him to stop playing petty politics with our rights! His office number is (602) 926-4481 his email address is: [email protected] . Don’t forget to tell your friends and family members to call Senator Tibshraney and do the same.

Tell Senator Tibshraney to schedule House Bill 2634 for a hearing in the Rules Committee.  HB2634 would allow a person whose civil rights have been restored to obtain a permit to carry a concealed firearm with certain restrictions.

In the House, there are two Senate bills that must be heard by the House Rules Committee. Senate Bill 1070 would make it easier to become a concealed carry permit instructor, and Senate Bill 1106 would create a lifetime concealed carry permit, as well as maintain the current 5-year permit.

SB1070 and SB1106 have been stalled in the House Rules committee and it is critical for you to call and email the House Rules Committee Chairman, State Representative Bob Robson (R-20), and tell him these bill must be heard in the Rules Committee possible before the session ends.  You can contact Representative Robson at (602) 926-5549 or by email at mailto:[email protected]

Don’t let your rights expire with the end of this legislative session!
