Senate Bill 399, Handgun Carry by University Faculty and Staff, to be Heard in Tennessee Senate Judiciary Committee

Senate Bill 399 is expected to be heard by the Tennessee Senate Judiciary Committee as early as Tuesday, May 3.  Sponsored by state Senator Stacey Campfield (R-7), SB 399 would allow all full-time college and university faculty and staff with a Handgun Carry Permit to carry handguns on campus. 

Also, House Bill 2016, the companion bill to SB 399, is expected to be heard by the House Judiciary Committee on May 3.  Sponsored by state Representative Andy Holt (R-76), HB 2016 passed in the state House Judiciary Subcommittee on April 13 by a 4 to 1 vote.
