The Boulder County Commission will be briefed this Thursday, August 11 by the U.S. Forest Service regarding public recreation, including hunting and shooting, on Forest Service lands in unincorporated Boulder County. This is an informational meeting only, but the public is invited to attend.
Although public testimony will not be taken, the NRA urges all hunters and recreational shooters who can to attend this meeting to demonstrate to the Commission the importance of federal forest lands in providing access and opportunities to hunt and shoot. In recent years, hunters and shooters have witnessed the closure of informal shooting areas and shooting ranges on Forest lands in Colorado. The NRA has been working hard to reverse this trend. The Commission needs to be advised by the presence of sportsmen and women at this meeting that Forest lands must continue to provide for traditional and historic public uses of public lands.
This briefing will be held at 2:30 pm this Thursday in the hearing room on the third floor of the county Courthouse located at 1325 Pearl Street in Boulder.
