Washington: Anti-Gun AG Promises Firearm and Magazine Ban Legislation Next Year

Yesterday, anti-gun Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced that he will propose legislation during the 2017 Legislative Session to ban the sale of popular and commonly-owned semi-automatic rifles and ammunition magazines.  While the legislation has not yet been drafted, your NRA-ILA fully expects it to follow the same anti-gun blueprints being called for by the Bloomberg/Clinton gun control supporters.

AG Ferguson’s announcement comes on the heels of a call for similar legislation by anti-gun groups in Washington, the same groups claiming that their goal wasn’t to take anyone’s gun while advocating for Initiative 594 in 2014.  Having now called for the banning of the most commonly owned firearms and ammunition magazines, these gun control groups have revealed their lie and proven that their real goal is to repeal the Second Amendment in Washington State, one step at a time.

Please contact Attorney General Bob Ferguson and voice your disappointment that he would call for legislation that would do nothing to prevent crime and only place undue burden on law-abiding gun owners.  You can contact AG Ferguson by calling (360) 753-6200 or by emailing him here.

This proposed legislation is nothing more than a political maneuver by Attorney General Bob Ferguson that could prevent Washingtonians from being able to effectively defend themselves.  Instead of playing games with the rights of his constituency, maybe AG Ferguson could focus on stopping the criminals who commit the crimes instead.  Criminals do not abide by new gun laws, and will continue to break the law using whatever tool they wish to commit their crimes.  This legislation will only disarm and restrict law-abiding gun owners from being able to defend themselves using the most effective means.

Again, please contact Attorney General Bob Ferguson by calling (360) 753-6200 or by emailing him here, and voice your disappointment.  Encourage your friends, family and fellow gun owners to do the same.
