Arkansas: Legislative Forum will Include Discussion on Campus Carry Legislation

The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Legislative Forum tomorrow, February 3, where one of the topics will be House Bill 1249.  This is the Campus Carry legislation introduced by state Representative Charlie Collins (R-84), which seeks to achieve a safer environment for public college and university residents, employees and visitors.  NRA members and Second Amendment supporters are encouraged to attend the legislative forum in support of this important measure.

HB 1249 would allow employees of public colleges and universities to carry firearms on campus, provided they have a valid Concealed Handgun Carry License (CHCL).  Anti-gun activists are expected to show up in large numbers, so it is important that supporters of this bill also attend.  Representative Collins will be there to explain the merits of his bill, including that self-defense is a fundamental right of every person.  The basic function of the Second Amendment is to protect the ability of law-abiding people to fight back effectively against those who would wrongfully deprive us of life and liberty.  That right does not end at any arbitrary boundary, including the arbitrary boundary of a public college or university campus.

The Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce Legislative Forum will be held at 123 W. Mountain, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and is scheduled to run from 4:00pm - 5:00pm.  Please make plans to attend, and encourage other supporters of our Right to Keep and Bear Arms to show up and express their support for Representative Collins and HB 1249.
