Yesterday, Governor Doug Ducey signed Senate Bill 1122 into law. Sponsored by state Senator Gail Griffin (R-14), this important legislation will prevent the state of Arizona, a county, city or town government from requiring a person to access or facilitate access to any state, federal or third party database as a condition of selling, gifting, donating or transferring personal property. This will include so-called “universal background checks” on the private transfer of firearms.
