California: Governor Vetoes Dealer Storage Bill and Signs Open Carry Ban

Yesterday, Governor Brown took action on two of the remaining three anti-gun bills by vetoing Senate Bill 464 and signing Assembly Bill 7.

SB 464 would have increased the mandatory storage and security requirements for licensed firearms dealers, adding onto the already stringent requirements. Click here to view the Governor’s veto message.

AB 7 will further restrict the open carry of an unloaded firearm on public property by including certain unincorporated areas as prohibited places. Click here to read the Governor’s signing message.

The Governor has until tomorrow, October 15th to take action on Assembly Bill 424.  Please use our TAKE ACTION button below to email Governor Brown and urge him to VETO AB 424.

AB 424 would remove the authority of a school district superintendent, his or her designee, or equivalent school authority to provide written permission for a person to possess a firearm within a school zone.
