California: Senate Public Safety Committee Postpones Age Restriction Bill to Next Tuesday, June 19

Continue to keep up the Pressure Contacting the Members of the Public Safety Committee! 

Today, Monday, June 11, the Senate Public Safety Committee postponed tomorrow’s hearing on Assembly Bill 3, legislation to raise the age to purchase firearms and ammunition to 21 years old.  The Committee is expected to reschedule the bill to be heard next Tuesday, June 19.  Please keep up the calls AND emails urging the Members of the Committee to OPPOSE AB 3. Despite AB 3 being pulled, other firearm and hunting related bills are still on the calendar for tomorrow June 12. Use the take action button below to contact members of the committees to voice your support/opposition to the following bills:

 

Senate Public Safety: 

Assembly Bill 2103, sponsored by Assembly Member Todd Gloria (D-78), would add certain requirements in addition to the already mandated training courses for a citizen to obtain a concealed carry license. Currently, concealed carry permit holders are already required to receive up to 16 hours training prior to receiving a permit and at least four hours of additional training every two years prior to renewal.  

 

Senate Natural Resources and Water: 

Assembly Bill 986, sponsored by Assembly Member James Gallagher (R-3), would reduce hunting license fees for veterans.  

Assembly Bill 2151, sponsored by Assembly Member Adam Gray (D-21),would help make hunting more affordable for youths by reducing the cost of certain big game tags for youth hunters. 

 

Assembly Public Safety:

Senate Bill 1382, sponsored by Senator Andy Vidak (R-14),would expand the vehicle storage options for gun owners by authorizing the use of a locking toolbox or utility box in pickup trucks or other vehicles that do not contain a trunk.
