BLM’s Plan Will Manage Use of Vehicles on Public Lands in Northwestern Colorado

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has released a preliminary plan that will determine where vehicles can be used in 1.5-million acres of public land in north western Colorado managed by BLM’s White River Field Office. 

The plan, maps, and Google Earth files are available on-line at: https://go.usa.gov/xn6N6.  The plan outlines four alternatives designating which areas within the White River Field Office would be open to cross-country motorized and mechanized use, which would be limited to designated routes, and which would be closed to motorized and mechanized vehicles. 

The BLM will host a public open house meeting to provide information and take written comments from 5-7 p.m. August 15 in Meeker at the Public Library, 490 Main St.

If you recreate anywhere on these BLM lands, you will need to look at this preliminary plan to determine if any of the alternatives proposed could affect how you  access the areas of interest to you.
