Montana: Two Gun Control Bills Scheduled for a Hearing in House Committee Tomorrow

Tomorrow, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider two gun control measures that would make it difficult for individuals to defend themselves in certain self-defense situations.

House Bill 480, sponsored by Rep. Mary Ann Dunwell, is an unnecessary storage law that could potentially make it difficult for gun owners to have their firearms ready for use in a self-defense situation. Criminals love this bill as it tips the scales in their favor in self-defense situations.

House Bill 477, sponsored by Rep. Moffie Funk, is firearm storage legislation similar to HB 480. Further, House Bill 477 includes a requirement that all licensed firearm dealers display signage of this new law and requirements.

Please contact members of the House Judiciary Committee and urge them to OPPOSE House Bills 480 and 477.
