On March 12th, the Senate Judiciary Committee voted to pass Senate File 137 to ensure that Second Amendment rights remain protected on taxpayer funded college campuses. It now goes to the Senate floor for further consideration. Please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT SF 137.
Wyoming already has a strong preemption law to prevent local government bodies from passing their own gun laws. This ensures that citizens across the whole state all have equal access to Second Amendment rights, and prevents the creation of a confusing patchwork of laws that are difficult to understand and obey.
Senate File 137 holds state taxpayer funded institutions of higher education to the same standard as local governments to prevent them from violating Second Amendment rights. This ensures that adults who are legally eligible to carry a firearm for self-defense are not prevented from doing so by crossing an arbitrary boundary, or by seeking a higher education.
Again, please contact your state senator and ask them to SUPPORT SF 137.
