Wyoming: Legislature Adjourns and Governor Signs Multiple Pro-Gun Bills into Law

Earlier this week, the Wyoming Legislature adjourned from a very successful 2021 Legislative Session, having sent multiple pro-gun bills to the desk of Governor Mark Gordon. Following the Legislature’s adjournment, Governor Gordon signed the following gun bills into law.

Senate File 155 provides protections for gun stores, ranges, or any other entities that engage in the lawful selling or servicing of firearms, components, or accessories. SF 155 also prevents the prohibition, regulation, or seizure of citizens’ Second Amendment rights during a declared State of Emergency.

House Bill 116 expands Wyoming’s permitless carry law, which has been in effect since 2011, to all law-abiding adults, not just Wyoming residents who have resided in the state for at least six months. This ensures that visitors and new residents have their right to self-defense without government red tape or delays.

House Bill 236 prohibits financial institutions and payment processors in Wyoming from discriminating against Second Amendment-based organizations and businesses solely for their work dealing with firearms, accessories, ammunition, etc.  This important legislation will provide security and ensure that banks and other financial institutions are not allowed to make decisions on anti-gun politics or beliefs, and instead provide services to all, equally.

Thank you to those legislators who supported the bills, and Governor Mark Gordon for signing these important measures into law.  Also thank you to the NRA Members and Second Amendment supporters who continued to contact their lawmakers in support.
