Grassroots Spotlight: Virginia Kick-Off Events

With Virginia’s state elections underway, NRA-ILA has deployed Campaign Field Staff to the Virginia Beach area, and we could think of no better way to kick off our efforts than an NRA 2A Day with a strong Second Amendment Activist Center and community partner. On Saturday, July 8th, 2023, NRA hosted the first of many local events starting off with the winner of NRA-ILA’s 2019 Jay M. Littlefield Award, Bob’s Gun Shop, located in Norfolk, VA. Working together, NRA-ILA Campaign Field Staff and volunteers met up to engage with Virginia Beach residents and outline the NRA’s efforts for the coming months.

Bob’s Gun Shop is a known landmark in the Norfolk community, making it a perfect location to engage with their many customers to promote NRA-ILA’s grassroots programs and volunteer opportunities. The NRA is grateful for community partners like Bob’s Gun Shop for their support in the fight for our Second Amendment rights. We look forward to hosting future events as we move closer to the elections in November. For information on how to become an NRA Second Amendment Activist Center, please click here.

Also on Saturday, July 8th, the NRA-ILA Virginia Grassroots team held an NRA Political Update Meeting in Fredericksburg, Virginia. During the event, the Virginia Grassroots Field Coordinator and the local Campaign Field Representative were able to speak with our NRA members regarding NRA-ILA’s mission and what you, as members, can do to ensure we have a successful state election in Virginia this Fall. We are thankful for the passion and commitment that was shown in response to our “call to action” to volunteer and get involved. Rest assured that, as we close in on November 7th, your NRA-ILA will continue to fight to promote and protect our Second Amendment rights.  As always, we appreciate the support, dedication, and hard work of our members and other pro-gun advocates.
