Washington: The Expedited Assault on Your Rights Continues! Hearings Scheduled for Tuesday!

In just the second week of the session, the Washington State legislature continues their assault on your right to keep and bear arms. This coming Tuesday, January 21st, 5 more-gun bills are scheduled for a hearing! The Senate and House committee hearings are suspiciously scheduled on the same day. Both the House and Senate Committees have already scheduled executive sessions to vote on bills later in the week, which signals they are intent on expediting the bills.

Please consider submitting testimony in opposition of this bill and register your position as "Con" through the House Committee and Senate Committee websites. Additionally, contact members of the Committees by using the TAKE ACTION button below.

Bills in the House Civil Rights and Judiciary Committee:

HB 1163 establishes a permit to purchase scheme and enhances requirements relating to purchase, transfer, and possession of firearms.

HB 1132 restricts firearm purchases to 1 gun every 30 days and places arbitrary restrictions on the purchase of ammunition.

HB 1152 requires mandatory locked storage of firearms separately from ammunition in vehicles and residences.

Bills in the Senate Law and Justice Committee:

SB 5099 imposes additional business operations management on FFLs, on top of those egregious restrictions imposed last session which have yet to take effect. The bill will make operating as a lawful and licensed firearms business so expensive and onerous to comply with that it will eliminate more gun stores across the state.

Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox for updates as this legislative season progresses.
