Montana: Red Flag Prevention Bill on Senate Floor This Week

Montana: Red Flag Prevention Bill on Senate Floor This Week

This week, the Senate will hear House Bill 809, preventing localities from enacting "red flag" laws. Please contact your Senator and urge them to SUPPORT HB 809 by using the TAKE ACTION button below.

HB 809 prevents local governments from enacting or enforcing an extreme risk protection order (ERPO) or accepting any grants that would aid in the adoption or enforcement of an ERPO. Red flag laws allow governments to seize firearms based on weak and nebulous standards of evidence and implement ex-parte hearings that would suspend an individual's Second Amendment rights without due process.

Please stay tuned to the NRA-ILA website and your inbox for updates as this legislation progresses.
